1776, The Musical

It's the summer of 1776, and the nation is ready to declare independence... if only our founders can agree to do it! This Tony award-winning best musical tells the story of the conflicts and compromises leading to the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Using humor and song, 1776 puts a human face on the pages of history.

    • You can purchase tickets online anytime here.             

    • You can also purchase tickets at the door prior to the performance with cash or Venmo.  

    • All tickets are open seating, $25 per ticket.

  •  No additional fees or charges for 1776 tickets.

  • The following are invited to buy $20 tickets:

    • Seniors – 62 or older

    • Active Military

    • Children 12 years and under (please see FAQ-Children)

    • Group tickets – purchase 10 tickets or more on one order

  • Children are welcome to this humorous, musical telling of one of the most important events in US history! While it contains more dialogue than most musicals, it is compellingly spoken by the creative characters who led the American Revolution. This musical is recommended for older school age children studying American history.
     

  • To buy tickets for more than one performance, each performance must be a separate online order.  Your name can be the same for each order.

  • Yes, there are six wheelchair spaces next to regular seats. Two spaces are in the first-row side isles, two spaces in middle of the Sanctuary side isles, and two spaces in the back side isles.  If a guest in a wheelchair can transfer to a regular seat, please feel free to do so and ask for assistance storing your wheelchair during the performance. All performances are open seating.

  • No, seating on the church pews is not assigned. The ushers will assist patrons to comfortably-spaced seats upon arrival.

  • In the interest of the other guests and performers, late seating will be at the discretion of house management.
     

  • No food or drink will be allowed inside the Sanctuary.  However, there will be light refreshments served during the intermission for your convenience on a church plaza outside.
     

  • Yes! There are two public parking lots (street level and lower parking) available at the Point Loma/Hervey Branch Library located at 3701 Voltaire Street, 92107, across the street from the Point Loma Community Presbyterian Church campus.  Additional free parking is available on the streets surrounding the church. Performances of 1776 will be in the main Sanctuary.
     

  • The main Sanctuary doors will open 30 minutes prior to each performance.
     

  • Total run time of the show is 2 hours and 45 minutes with intermission.
     

    •  If you are unable to attend 1776, please give your tickets to a friend.  Let your friend know the name on the order, date/time of performance, and total number of tickets purchased. Your friend will check in at the door with this information to use your online tickets.

    • If you wish, we may be able to re-issue your tickets for a later performance, if space is available. 

    • There are no refunds for unused tickets.  All sales are final.
